Morning had already dawned...
Asmita had eaten her breakfast in her room upstairs and was still sitting there, not stepping outside even once. Her mood was off, and she was busy on a video call, continuously talking to someone.
Meanwhile…
In a three-story house, a girl was dancing in her room. Standing in front of the mirror, she was making different expressions while singing the song "Thade Rahiyo" — specifically the middle paragraph:
“Mhaara banna saje-dhaje
Dhan dhan perfume lagave,
Mirror mein khud ko dekh dekh ke
Mann hi mann muskawe,
Manne chhod diya
Banna mhaara selfish
Dil haye tod diya...”
Suddenly, another girl walked in with a smile and said,
“What’s going on, my queen?”
Sheetal entered the room and joined in, taking a spin with the girl. They placed their hands over their hearts and started singing together:
“Banna mhaara selfish, Dil haye tod diya”
They both burst out laughing while dancing.
Breathless from laughing, Sheetal said,
“Aditi, my sweet friend! I’m so happy today... we're attending a friend’s wedding, and you have to come!”
Hearing this, Aditi looked shocked.
“We’re going to a wedding, and you’re telling me now?!”
Sheetal flashed a sheepish grin.
“I totally forgot! And maybe your family’s going too — because after the Sisodias, the Maheshwaris are the top family in our city. Ratan Kaka must’ve received the invitation.”
Aditi frowned.
“Not sure. Maa-sa hasn’t said anything about it. Maybe they forgot to tell me.”
Sheetal replied excitedly,
“Do you know? All the rich families from across Rajasthan are going to be there. And maybe their sons too! If some CEO’s son ends up marrying me, I’ll become a queen!”
She closed her eyes, lost in the daydream.
Aditi adjusted her hair in front of the mirror and laughed.
“Not sons, they’re bringing toddlers! So... planning to marry toddlers now?”
Sheetal made a funny face and flopped onto the bed. Aditi pulled her into a warm hug. Sheetal picked up her bag, and both girls left the house together.
This was Sheetal’s home. Her father was a well-known doctor in the city. While not as rich as the Sisodias, they belonged to the upper-middle class — which meant earning over 2 million rupees a year. Aditi took her own car and had the driver take them to college.
Meanwhile…
A man sat in his office chair explaining something to his assistant.
“Badal, tell the team I want all the plans and designs ready within a week. And get everyone in the meeting room right now.”
Badal nodded, grabbed his laptop, and called all the top experts — interior designers, engineers, finance department heads, and more — to the meeting room.
Just then, a man entered with commanding presence. Everyone stood up at once. With just a glance, he signaled them to sit.
He walked up to the projector screen and said to the interior designer,
“Start creating a theme for the amusement park.”
“This park will be the largest in the world. The current biggest is Disneyland at 500 acres. Ours spans 700 acres. There will be parades based on our legendary kings and queens — like Jodha Akbar, Jijabai & Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap Singh, Rani of Jhansi, Rani Padmavati — and other representations of Indian culture. Every ride that exists globally will be featured here, and we’ll develop new ones too, especially for teens aged 13+ so they can enjoy rides typically restricted to 18+."
The interior designer nodded in agreement.
He continued,
“The food stalls should be affordable for visitors but still profitable for us. I want this project completed in three years. Estimate the budget and put the file in my room.”
Everyone left to begin working on the project. Just then, the man’s phone rang.
He answered with a simple, “Yes?”
A voice on the other end said,
“Mr. Adwait Pratap Singh, today is my wedding — are you on your way from Chittorgarh to Jaisalmer?”
Adwait replied,
“I won’t be able to make it, Mr. Jayesh. But my gift will surely reach you.”
Jayesh responded,
“No, no! I won’t go through with the wedding unless Adwait Pratap Singh is there!”
Adwait was visibly irritated. He was someone who didn’t hesitate to speak his mind, but today — since it was Jayesh’s wedding — he restrained himself. Otherwise, he might’ve said something harsh, causing Jayesh to actually cancel the wedding.
Instead, Adwait said calmly,
“Just sit in the mandap, I’ll be there on time.”
He ended the call, stood up, and called home,
“Get a suit ready for me, and pack 23 extra outfits in a separate bag, Kaki.”
(Kaki — the house caretaker)
He returned home, changed clothes, then went to a quiet location. The driver left, and Adwait’s private jet took off for Jaisalmer. While flying, he started checking his emails.
